ESL Announce UK Dota 2 Challenge #2
Wednesday 23rd April 2014, ESL UK announce AOC as the headline sponsor for the second edition of the Dota 2 Challenge. The tournament is to span over three months, and is set to conclude in the ESL UK studios, based in central England. Featuring a £3,000 prize pot, the competition is the biggest online competition for UK Dota to date.
“The first Dota 2 Challenge was a huge success, we saw the very best talent from across the United Kingdom converge first within the online arena, and then offline at the Kettering Conference Centre. We saw new teams form, new storylines develop and the true face of UK esports shine out across the globe”, says Peter Mather, Community Manager for ESL UK. “It was an exciting time, and we didn’t want the tale to stop there. We approached AOC to see if they too wanted to keep the story going, and here we are, just weeks away from the start date of the second edition of the UK Dota 2 Challenge.”
The competition is to be comprised of eight prized qualification cups, leading into a grand final for the best eight teams from the UK, broadcasted live on ESL TV from the ESL UK studios.
